City Champions!!

With events coming thick and fast at St. Michael’s, Monday 23rd March saw the Tag Rugby city finals.Having qualified unbeaten the squad were in a posititive mood for the challenge ahead. However, we started slowly narrowly beating Bilston in our first game.Fortunately the players upped their games and got better and better as the tournament progressed. We qualified for the semi-finals in first place, leaving us a tricky game against Uplands! The team were outstanding running in 5 unanswered tries with Tom,Shaun and Emily finishing off magnificent build-up play from Brodey, Shay,Jude and Carys.

Our opponents in the final were St. Stephen’s – worthy finalists in their own right. We had really hit our peak and produced some breathtaking support play. At one point we managed to string 15 passes together which culminated in a winning try for Smiler! What a collective achievement from all the squad: Jude(captain),Brodey,Jake,Shaun,Hannah,Ellie,Lara,Tom,Shay,Carys,Aidan,Emily,Keeley and Tommy.

Again a huge thanks to Mandy,Sarah,Louise and Tom for transporting/supporting our children on the day. We are very lucky to have such great parents!
